Fort Corno
Solemn witness to the Great War
Nestled in the mountains of the Valle del Chiese, the recently restored Fort Corno is a place where history comes alive again and where you can take an authentic journey of memory, stepping into a fascinating and dramatic setting.
From this place, strategically located to dominate a fundamental pass of access to the alpine world, you will admire a unique and unrepeatable panorama, pushing the view as far as catching sight of Lake Idro and the Rocca d’Anfo, located on Brescian soil.
Built between 1890 and 1892 at an elevation of 1068 m above sea level, the structure was an integral part of a complex system of fortifications, built to defend the territory, which also included Larino, Dazolino, Revegler and Cariola. Designed in the Vogl style by Captain and construction manager Adolf Kroneiser, the building has revolving steel domes and cannon armor.
